Hamletsandheritage.com was created through a partnership between Durham Tourism and York Tourism to support Ontario Tourism’s Great Fall Drives Heritage Hamlets fall driving route.
York Tourism is a division of the Regional Municipality of York’s Planning and Development Department. York Region lies immediately north of Toronto and is home to the municipalities of Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Aurora, Georgina, Whitchurch-Stouffville, East Gwillimbury and King.
Durham Tourism is a division of the Regional Municipality of Durham’s Economic Development and Tourism Department. Durham Region is located immediately east of Toronoto and includes the municipalities of Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Oshawa, Pickering, Scugog, Uxbridge and Whitby.
With a combined area of 4,346 square kilometers (1,678 miles), and a combination of rural and urban areas, York and Durham regions offer a myriad of urban and country experiences with plenty of secret places and undiscovered highlights to explore.
